february thought 02: cities disclaimer up front: i have been stockpiling these posts so i don’t necessarily know if this was in fact truly my second thought but, well hey. Maybe its because of the snow that has fallen and how it mutes all the colors into a range of greys. The lines become more prominent because the colors of the sky, water, streets and land are all the same. I am thinking about cities today.

if you love cities, read calvino’s invisible cities.. you won’t be disappointed. :)

ok let’s see, for me this year february begins on the 6th in the midst of another huge snowstorm. it’s a perfectly quiet day to catch up.
this month’s assignment is to go with the flow…if there is a thought that frames the day, i will try to respond to it in some way visually.

hopefully. but the idea here is still quick, don’t overthink it, move on exercises. (she repeats over and over to herself)

february thought 01 :  faith. great. a pretty tough one to start off with, but this is the thought that has been framing my days of late. faith is about believing in things you cannot see. things that are not. so instead of showing you a blank page and asking you to believe me, i will show you why its been heavy on my mind. this left me with much to think about. it was worth the time it takes to travel to gilead. this is not a fast read. that isn’t the point.

january roundup #1

February 5, 2010

january is just sort of about randomly shooting moments. I don’t have a big explanation for these images. they just sort of are. i will write captions if there is anything to say about them. This one was shot on january 1st after i read my cards. It’s gonna be an interesting year.

Some of the images I glued into my sketchbook in pairings. they just seem like they go together. the images are all 2×3.

where did january go?

February 4, 2010

happy new year. happy 2010. Since i have pretty much ignored posting for the entire month i have decided that I won’t try to play catch up.. i am going to let january come and go without much fanfare..even though there is no evidence to support this claim,  i did work on a series of photos during january. they are all 2×3 which is such a lovely size.

it makes you pay close attention.

So to commemorate jannuary in a small way I will post them here as a recap, then proceed onward to february with gusto..no more dilly dallying. i am back on the wagon..

onward…….e
